Certificate IV in Building and Construction
Why an
assessment? If
you have had experience in 'supervising
building jobs' whether officially or unofficially
and you are able to demonstrate
the required number of years, then an assessment
is the option for you!
The
assessment process is a more convenient way of gaining
your qualification without the difficulty of having
to attend classes plus it is completed much quicker,
approximately twenty weeks. However this will vary
depending on how much time you devote to the assessment.
Remember
- As
the assessment is based on your experience of 'running
building jobs', you need to be able to demonstrate
the required relevant experience.
So
before you start on your assessment, you will need
to provide a miniumum of two written references
from building professionals confirming your supervisory
experience, plus complete the Resume form detailing
examples of your experience. Currently the BSA requires either
four years or two years if you have an Australian
Carpentry or Bricklaying Trade Certificate.
